hair There is no denying it’s become rather difficult to keep track of chameleon Kim Kardashian West’s various looks, which is why we’re here to ensure you’re always in the know. And now, thanks to hairstylist Chris Appleton, the reality star has traded in her long locks for a fresh bob.
Chris Appleton took to Instagram to show off his work with an image of Kardashian West’s new ‘do, captioning the post: “Big cut for @kimkardashian today. Who likes the short hair?” If our memory serves us well, the reality star committed to a similar style around the same time last year, just in time for the US summer.
While she’s experimented with many hair lengths in the past, Nina Dobrev seems like one of the last celebrities left who hasn’t shifted the hue of her hair. However, the actress recently changed that, giving into yet another quarantine-induced celebrity hair transformation, and we’re 100 per cent here for her new look!
As has become custom for creative and experimental (yet bored) celebrities stuck in self-isolation, the Vampire Diaries alum took to Instagram to surprise fans with her “quarantint”. Stepping out into the light to snap her hair, it looks as though Dobrev opted for a dark purple, Merlot-tinted hue that’s a bold enough move away from her natural colour, but not so dramatic that she couldn’t come back from it if colourist’s remorse hits.
Kendall Jenner is known for her rich brunette hair hue and, apart from when she went platinum for Burberry’s spring/summer 2020 show, she tends to keep her hair in the noir colour zone. However, it appears she has lightened up her locks while self isolating and the change is dramatic. In a post on the model’s Instagram Stories (later shared on fan accounts), Jenner debuted a much lighter, honey blonde look. The model looked to be trying out an Instagram filter which also transformed her dark eyes into a startling blue, making for a very different looking Jenner than we’ve seen before.
First Hilary Duff dyed her hair blue, then Dua Lipa coloured her locks pink, and now Kristen Stewart has followed suit with a bright new hue of her own. The actress’s new style made its Instagram debut via her colourist Cj Romero’s account, with an image that also happened to picture Emma Roberts. “Who said you can’t be cute in quarantine!? 🧚🏻♂️Hair cut on @emmaroberts and Cut and Color on Kristen!!” Cj Romero captioned his post.
The colourist then shared a closer look at Stewart’s new hue, which he has coined cosmic rust. Romero also gave his followers a few pointers on how to create the colour yourself, in case you’ve been thinking about taking the plunge at home. “I used Bright Copper and a couple drops of Autumn Red by @marianilastockholm I also added @incommon Cashmere Fusion (Restorative Treatment) to give my girls hair a little extra love and moisture! We left the mixture on for 30 minutes giving Kristen a 2 for 1 *color and treatment* hence the name.”
Dua Lipa has trialled a fair share of styles over the last six months, transitioning from her raven-hued bob, to a contrasting peroxide blonde top layer—which caused her to cut baby bangs due to the damage caused by the dye. And now, not unlike many other celebrities in the thick of the quarantine period, the singer has made her latest hair transition while self-isolating.
“Quarantine diaries—this week’s experiment… pink hair,” wrote our cover star on Instagram alongside her freshly-dyed half-bubblegum pink-half black hair scooped up into space buns. And scrolling a little further past her initial reveal, you will see who was behind the handiwork of her new hair—Lipa’s boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, looking every bit the professional in gloves coating his girlfriend’s hair in pastel pink dye. Ladies, get yourself a man like Hadid who’ll help you with your colour upkeep.
One common way people seem to be occupying their time while in self-isolation is undergoing a DIY haircut or colour, a passtime Hilary Duff recently acquainted herself with. And considering the Lizzie McGuire reboot is still very much on pause, the actress looks to have found the perfect time to part with hers—and her character’s—signature golden blonde tones in favour of something far more bold.
